One book that is used by many people to learn web design is "Master Visually: Creating Web Pages". It was written by Joe Kraynak and gives a step by step approach to creating a web page. This book details the process from start to finish. The book is divided into approximately five different sections. It discusses design areas and topics such as programming language and using HTML.
In the first section of the book, the person is able to create, view, and edit HTML after reading this first part. The book then jumps into how to format a web page in part two. It builds on the use of the HTML editor that was taught in part one and it further teaches the use of cascading style sheets, creating an image map and improving frame navigation. This section will also show how to improve a website by adding pictures.
Part three of this computer book is focused on the use of Java. The web page designer is shown how to use and implement java when implementing HTML.
The fourth part of the book is geared towards web page building using forms. The person will learn how to first build the form and then he will learn how to get or capture form data.
Part five teaches the web designeer how to embed objects. These page objects include everything from adding complex sound and video to using more advanced techniques such as flash. There is even a description of how to use a template to create a flash document.
The last part of this computer book consists of two chapters. They detail how to validate and review your website before it is uploaded to the Internet.
